Many second-citizenship programmes only recognise the classic family: spouse and children. Unmarried couples often face closed doors. Sierra Leone is much more flexible.
Route 1: As a spouse
Married spouses are included as family members in Fast Track and Heritage Citizenship – for USD 10,000 per person. Sierra Leone recognises up to two spouses – and besides your current spouse, former spouses can also be included in the application, in most cases for USD 10,000 or USD 20,000 per person.
Route 2: As a “Plus One” – even without marriage
In Fast Track and Heritage Citizenship, one non-family person can additionally be included as a “Plus One”. This can be your life partner, but also a business partner or a close friend. Marriage or proof of the relationship is not required. The Plus One costs USD 30,000 and, like all applicants, goes through due diligence.
Route 3: Enterprise Citizenship – two people, no dependants
Since 25 September 2026, Enterprise Citizenship has been available: a programme for exactly two applicants without further dependants. The price is USD 80,000 per person plus one shared due diligence fee; the submission fee is reduced to USD 3,750. For couples without children in the application, this is often the cheapest route.
Which route fits?
- With children or parents in the application: Fast Track (USD 140,000) or Heritage (USD 120,000) plus spouse or Plus One.
- Just the two of you: Enterprise Citizenship, USD 80,000 per person.
- Alone: Solo Entrepreneur, USD 95,000.
